Cora Castellani had 20 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals to lead Valley View to a 52-19 win over Mid Valley on Monday night in the championship game of the Lou Camoni Memorial Basketball Tournament.
Castellani helped the Cougars (8-1) get off to a fast start with nine points in the first quarter. She continued to pile up the points with nine more in the second as Valley View built a 40-11 lead.
Ali Mauro had eight points and six steals, Ava Gazoo had eight points, four steals and two blocks, Mady Minelli had seven points and four steals and Ashlan Palickar added four points and eight rebounds for the Cougars.
Castellani and Gazoo were named to the all-tournament team.
Giada Vagni led Mid Valley (3-6) with six points. Mackenzie Richards scored two points and was an all-tournament selection for the Spartanettes.
Lakeland 41, Carbondale Area 20: Olivia Beier scored 16 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Lady Chiefs to third place at the Lou Camoni Memorial Tournament.
Kamri Naniewicz added nine points, and Naomi Rude had five points to earn an all-tournament spot for the Lady Chiefs (4-5).
Alexis Nykaza, an all-tournament pick, scored 13 points to lead Carbondale Area (2-7).
Delaware Valley 48, Port Jervis 30: Amanda Aragona scored 17 points as the Lady Warriors advanced to the championship game of the Delaware Valley girls basketball holiday tournament.
Leah Bird added 13 points, and Brianna Waldron scored seven points and had 13 rebounds for Delaware Valley (6-1), which will face Newburgh, New York, on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.
Liahna Mullen led Port Jervis with 12 points.
Wilson 55, Abington Heights 35: Violet Hauck and Ryan Leaman each scored 11 points to lead Wilson West Lawn (8-1) to a win in the semifinals of the Parkland Tournament.
Emma Coleman scored 18 points for No. 1 Abington Heights (6-2).
Pittston Area 58, Old Forge 31: At Old Forge, Pittston took a four-point lead into the second quarter and outscored the Lady Devils, 21-2, in the period to capture the championship of the Anthony D. Badger Marseco Memorial Basketball Tournament.
Four Pittston Area (5-5) players scored double figures, led by Leah Drozginski’s 15 points. Lili Hintze added 13 — hitting three 3-pointers — and Bella Dessoye netted 12. Guiliana Latona was also in double figures with 10.
Ava Arnold had 12 to pace Old Forge (2-4).
Honesdale 45, Wallenpaupack 39: At Honesdale, Ruby Martin had 17 points to lead the No. 8 Lady Hornets to the Honesdale Jaycees Tournament title.
Karsyn Kromko, Olivia Reed and Lily Murray each added eight points for Honesdale (7-2).
Lily Mancino had 15 points for the Lady Buckhorns (5-4).
Martin earned tournament MVP, and Kromko, Mancino, Western Wayne’s Khloe Mistishin and Forest City’s Marlo Urbas were named to the all-tournament team.
Western Wayne 43, Forest City 28: At Honesdale, Khloe Mistishin had 16 points to lead the Lady ‘Cats to a victory in the consolation game of the Honesdale Jaycees Tournament.
Skyla McGuire added eight points for Western Wayne (5-4).
Sophia Lombardi and Aundrea Pevec each had nine points for the Lady Foresters (1-6).
