READING, Pa. – Children got a jump start on the new year at the Reading Public Museum.

People were invited to dance the day away at the museum’s annual “Noon Year’s Eve” party.

Children could make their own noisemakers and other fun props, all before hitting the dance floor and counting down to noon.

Organizers say the sold-out event allowed everyone to get in on the fun.

“Recognizing that not everybody can stay up until midnight,” said Becky Ruth, museum educator. “So it’s a fun way to ring in the New Year a little bit earlier.”

It all culminated with a balloon drop for the kids.
