OBITUARY
2nd Lt. Carol Marie Lazzeri, BSN, 95, of Jefferson Twp. passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was the widow of Joseph Lazzeri, who passed away on November 19, 2014 and the couple was married for 54 years.
Born in Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Caroline Grace (Varley) Young. As an RN, Carol dedicated her life to caring for others, first while serving in the U.S. Army and continuing to make an impression on her community by working throughout the Scranton area.
Carol was a avid reader, enjoyed the challenge of completing a puzzle and doing crosswords. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and the memories created will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her children: JoAnn Marie Lazzeri and Angela Ceccacci and her husband Fred; her grandchildren: Ashley, Emily and Freddy Ceccacci, Brent Mac Salt and Michael & Brandon Salt and many nieces and nephews. Carol was also preceded in death by her sons: Brent Salt of Oklahoma and Michael Salt of Madison Twp.
The funeral will be held on Friday, January 2 at 9:30 am from Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 3 First St. in Spring Brook Twp. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am in the St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Church Street in Moscow by Rev. Thomas M. Muldowney, pastor. Interment with Rite of Committal and military honors will follow in Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp.
Viewing will be held on Friday, from 8:30 am until 9:30 am, at the funeral home.
