The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has lifted the temporary speed limit reduction on Interstate 90 in Erie County. However, motorists are still urged to avoid unnecessary travel as winter weather continues to impact road conditions.

Drivers who must travel will encounter reduced speed limits of 45 mph on the following highways:

Interstate 79: From Exit 78 (Route 228, Cranberry/Mars) in Butler County to the Erie County endpoint.

Interstate 80: From the Ohio state line to the New Jersey state line.

Interstate 86: From the New York state line to the I-90 interchange in Erie County.

Interstate 376: From the I-80 interchange in Mercer County to Exit 48 (Route 151, Hopewell) in Beaver County.

Commercial vehicles unaffected by restrictions must remain in the right lane on these roadways.

PennDOT crews continue treating roads, but the agency emphasizes that their goal is to keep roads passable—not completely free of ice and snow. Treatment will continue until precipitation ends and roads are clear.
