With ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes, St. Luke’s welcomed its first baby of 2026.

Ja’Coby Asher Roberson came into this world at 1:11 a.m., a number some believe to be fortuitous.

To his mom and dad, Ja’Coby’s timing was perfect.

“I’m so grateful for him, he’s such a cutie,” said mom Kobie Smith.

“I was mad excited,” said dad Brian Roberson. “As soon I see the top of his head, when she was pushing him, I just had a big ole smile.”

Ja’Coby’s stats are adorable, weighing in at eight pounds, six ounces, and 21 inches long.

To say his parents and his grandma are thrilled would be an understatement.

“A legend was born on this day. Temple, Penn State get ready, he’s on the way,” said Roberson.

And while they have big plans for their little man, teaching him his ABC’s and the love of football, for now, the Roberson family is content to swaddle him up and bask in baby’s New Year’s arrival.

St. Luke’s officials say Ja’Coby is one of three babies born by 5 a.m..

Jefferson Health also had its share of babies to ring in the New Year.

Baby Isabella Mia Bourdier was born at 12:11 a.m. at LVH Cedar Crest.

Baby Elliana Tola Olowoyo was born at 12:42 a.m. at LVH Muhlenberg, followed by Baby Jasper Thorn Jones at LVH Hazelton.

All the babies came in at healthy weights to some very proud parents.

Congratulations to their families!
