On weekends from Jan. 3, through Feb. 8, (plus Monday, Jan. 19), Reading & Northern guests can enjoy a round-trip excursion to historic Jim Thorpe from Reading Outer Station or Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Regional Railroad Station at Pittston for $19.95.

Tickets from intermediate stations are $14.95, and free parking at all railroad facilities.

The train will be accessible in the station during the entire layover in Jim Thorpe. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase at all times during your excursion.

“We want to make sure that people can take in what downtown Jim Thorpe has to offer, but if they get too cold, they can return to the heated train,” Matt Fisher, R&N’s Senior Vice President/General Manager, said.

Tickets at these reduced fares are expected to sell quickly. They are available for purchase at www.rbmnrr-passenger.com or by phone at 610-562-2102.

All riders, regardless of age, must have a ticket.

On the Reading route, intermediate stations are Port Clinton, The Village at Houser’s Crossing, and Tamaqua. On the Pittston route, intermediate stations are Penobscot and White Haven.
