BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo said Wednesday that Bensalem Police will enforce illegal trash dumping due to the strike in nearby Philadelphia.
Township officials are concerned that Philadelphia residents may think about illegally dumping their trash in our township during the Philadelphia District Council 33 strike.
Mayor DiGirolamo is standing firm, informing all township departments to report, investigate, and charge anyone identified as committing the illegal dumping acts.
The Bensalem Township Police Department will utilize all available technology and proactive patrols to identify and prosecute anyone from Philadelphia who decides that Bensalem is the place to dispose of their trash during the strike, officials said.
“We encourage Philadelphia residents to utilize the more than 60 locations that Philadelphia Sanitation has provided,” officials said.
