The family and friends of Travelle Martin are remembering his life and legacy Saturday night in Berks County.
Martin went missing in January of last year, but this week, remains were discovered that may finally give his loved ones closure. Right around noon, the countdown began to the balloon release. A celebration in the sky for the life of Travelle Martin.
“We was a very likeable person, a very loveable person, and he touched so many people, as you can see,” said Martin’s aunt Anita Jemenez. “Last year to the date, he went missing around 11:30 January 2nd, which turned into the morning search, which is January 3rd.”
Last Sunday, remains were accidentally discovered on a trail in the Flying Hills community that might belong to Martin.
“We’re happy the person that found him was walking the dog that day, but yeah it’s been very, very devastating for us,” said Jemenez.
The Berks County District Attorney told us it could take months to officially confirm the remains belong to Martin using DNA, and then the investigation turns to finding out how he died. Closure his family is hoping for as they keep his memory alive.
“We didn’t have any answers for a year, and unfortunately, just to get the answers that we got, it’s devastating,” said Jemenez.
