At a recent meeting of the Scranton Rotary Club, Joseph Riccardo, right, was presented with a Rotary Foundation Service Award for having made outstanding contributions to polio eradication efforts during the Rotary 2023-2024 fiscal year. The award is for nonfinancial contributions within a World Health Organization region, in this case North America. Presenting this international award on behalf of Mark Daniel Maloney, chair of the Rotary Foundation, and the trustees of the Rotary Foundation was William “Bill” Skinner, left, Rotary District 7410 governor. The award recognizes Riccardo for his efforts in successfully facilitating a young leaders’ public health summit on World Polio Day in October 2023.
