PennDOT maintenance forces will conduct road work at 18 locations across Northampton County from Monday, Jan. 5 through Friday, Jan. 9, with most projects causing lane restrictions during daytime hours.

The scheduled work includes pothole patching and maintenance operations affecting major routes and local roads. Most projects will be active from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are subject to weather delays.

Several projects will require lane restrictions with flagging, including work on Main Street in Chapman Borough between Monocacy Drive from Jan. 5 to Jan. 7. In Moore Township, Scenic Drive between Hoch Road and Bigley Road will have flagging operations from Jan. 8 to Jan. 9.

Pothole patching operations will affect Route 987/Airport Road in East Allen Township between Orchard Lane and Nor-Bath Boulevard from Jan. 5 to Jan. 6. Additional patching is scheduled on Cherryville Road in Northampton Borough between Main Street and 30th Street on Jan. 7, and Route 329 in East Allen Township between Airport Road and Seemsville Road from Jan. 8 to Jan. 9.

Multiple sections of Interstate 78 in Williams Township and Lower Saucon Township will experience shoulder restrictions from Jan. 5 through Jan. 9. The work includes both eastbound and westbound lanes between various exits, including Routes 33, 611 and 412.

Several roads will have maintenance work without traffic restrictions, including Main Street in Stockertown Borough between Old Easton Road and Hillside Avenue from Jan. 6 to Jan. 7, and PA 512 in Wind Gap Borough between Mack Road and Sullivan Trail from Jan. 8 to Jan. 9.

Lower Mount Bethel Township will see work on multiple roads, including PA 611/S Delaware Drive, Belvidere Road and Mount Pleasant Road at various times throughout the week.

Williams Township will experience lane restrictions on PA 611/S Delaware Drive between Cedarville Road and the Bucks County line from Jan. 5 to Jan. 7. Lower Saucon Township will have flagging on Bingen Road between Black River Road and Seidersville Road from Jan. 8 to Jan. 9.

Motorists can check road conditions at www.511PA.com, a free service available 24 hours a day that provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. The service is also accessible through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following local alerts on X.
