Why didn’t the Eagles get the No. 2 seed?

Sirianni decided to rest starters for Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Washington Commanders, and the Birds fell, 24-17.

“This is what I felt was best for us, to be rested and healthy going into the playoffs,” Sirianni said.

Last year, Sirianni chose to rest the starters in the regular-season finale. And of course, the Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl.

What are the other games this weekend?

In the NFC, the Los Angeles Rams face the Carolina Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, while the Green Bay Packers visit the Chicago Bears at 8 p.m. Saturday.

What’s next if the Birds win the first round?

The division round follows the wild card, which will be held the following weekend.

The Birds have a few possible opponents depending on how the other games go this weekend, so the division games will be determined after this round.

But if the Birds win Sunday and the Packers defeat the Bears on Saturday night, the Eagles would host the next playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field.

Will the Birds go back to the Super Bowl?

It’s certainly possible. Without a first-round bye, the Eagles will need to win three playoff games to make it to the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California, on Feb. 8. Last year, the Eagles beat the Packers, Rams and Commanders to get to the big game.

With the No. 3 seed, they’re guaranteed at least one home game in South Philly, but could potentially end up with as many as three.

But first, the Birds have to win on Sunday.

Is it too late to join the Birds’ bandwagon?

It’s never too late to start rooting for the Eagles, even if you’ve never watched a football game before. If anyone says, “Go Birds” to you, be sure to respond with, “Go Birds.”
