COPLEY, Ohio — Authorities are investiging the death of a young Erie woman who was found in a hotel room New Year’s Day.
The police department in Copley, west of Akron, identified the woman in a news release sent to the Erie Times-News Jan. 6 as Shawnna Elizabeth Pasquale, 24. She was found deceased Jan. 1 in a hotel room on Rothrock Road, east of Interstate 77, according to information in the release.
Copley police detectives and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Pasquale died as the result of a physical assault, investigators wrote in the release.
The death was ruled a homicide. She died of multiple blunt-force injuries, an investigator in the Medical Examiner’s Office said Jan. 6.

Copley police said Jan. 6 they are not releasing any more information at this time as the investigation into the homicide continues.
