DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Stepping into a universe of galaxies and bottled treasures, Space Time Mead & Cider Works offers rich wines to bold, spiced ciders as they enter a new chapter.
The local business has officially transitioned ownership and is celebrating its newest location at the Quakertown Farmers Market.
Now under new ownership, Melody Stout and her husband, Kyle, are assuming control from original owner Dan Schreffler, continuing the vision while expanding the business in new directions.
Melody Stout shared what customers can expect when they step inside the winery.
“We make high-quality craft mead and cider with high-quality ingredients and local ingredients as much as possible. And we typically make sci-fi and fantasy-themed meads and ciders, along with some others. We’re very focused on providing the highest quality and the most excellent product that we can provide,” said Stout.
Stout said Space Time’s offerings are locally inspired, and she shares some of the fan-favorite selections.
“One of the things that sets us apart is that we are a PA Preferred Winery, which means that about 75% of our product is made using local ingredients. That’s not very common in this area. There’s not a lot of PA Preferred Winery, and we’re very proud of receiving that designation. So, it’s really important to us to maintain that designation and have products that are high-quality and locally inspired,” said Stout.
“Our best seller right now, I would say Andromeda. It is a wildflower, honey, traditional mead, and it’s got a little bit of a tang and flare to it, so it’s really enjoyable. Our Christmas best seller was Krampus Knocked, which is a pomegranate and mullein spices mead, that you can serve warm. Another popular one is Muelity, which is a ginger and lime-flavored mead. And we have plenty of that available as well,” said Stout.
Expanding their reach, Stout revealed where the winery’s newest location will be and what customers can expect to find there.
“We’re partnering with the Quakertown Farmers Market. To have a little space in there. It’s a little tasting room. It’s got a bar, and it’s got a kegerator with some taps, and we have some mead bottles for sale, but we also have some draft meads for sale. And we have some draft beer and cider from other local breweries and cideries as well. So, we are trying to offer a broad option for the folks in Quakertown. And expand our salles and our market down there,” said Stout.
Space Time Mead & Cider Works will be open in the Quakertown Farmers Market Friday through Sundays.
