SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Four juveniles are facing charges following threats being made over a video game and a subsequent assault.
The Scranton Police Department said that the investigation began on Tuesday when officers were dispatched to Foster Street at Gunster Avenue for a report of a possible abduction.
At the scene, it was revealed that the incident was in fact an assault, according to authorities. A vehicle involved in the incident was identified and shortly after located by police in Old Forge.
Four teens were found in the vehicle and taken into custody:
Age 15, TaylorAge 15, Old ForgeAge 17, DuryeaAge 15, Old Forge
The 14-year-old victim reported to investigators that he was engaged in an argument while playing the online game “Fortnite,” and another player made threats to assault him.
The victim was later walking to his residence when a vehicle sped up to him and stopped. The four suspects exited the vehicle and assaulted the victim, police said.
The victim sustained injuries, including superficial lacerations from an edged weapon, according to police.
The four occupants of the vehicle face charges of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and simple assault and conspiracy to commit reckless endangerment.
Police said the juveniles were processed and released to the custody of their guardians.
