Police are searching for a man who they said rammed his vehicle into a group of people outside a lounge in Bucks County on New Year’s Day, critically injuring one of them.

According to the Lower Southampton Township Police Department, at around 2 a.m. on January 1, 2026, officers were called to the Hive Lounge, located at 146 Bustleton Pike, after receiving a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

When officers got to the scene, they found a 29-year-old man from Philadelphia, unconscious in the parking lot with serious facial and head trauma, police said.

Police said the man was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, with injuries consistent with skull fractures and internal injuries.

Surveillance video from Hive Lounge, according to police, showed the driver of a white Volkswagen deliberately accelerating toward a group of five people, striking the 29-year-old man, two other people, and two parked vehicles.

Police said the video also showed that the driver continued to circle the building, repeatedly driving towards people, who narrowly avoided being struck, before briefly stopping near the 29-year-old victim and fleeing northbound on Buteleton Pike.

Officers later located a white Volkswagen Jetta nearly a mile away in the TJ Maxx parking lot on E. Street Rd, according to police. The vehicle, which was unoccupied, had front-end damage, blood on the hood and grille, a shattered windshield with what appeared to be a human impression, a deployed airbag, missing parts, and leaking fluids.

Police said the vehicle was registered to Roba Gasitashvili, a 22-year-old man from Philadelphia.

Investigators used witness statements to positively identify Gasitashvili as the driver captured on surveillance footage.
