The start of a new year is a chance to reset, refocus and reconnect — and there’s no better place to do that than at the Greater Scranton YMCA.

This January, join the Greater Scranton YMCA and pay a $0 join fee.

The Greater Scranton YMCA offers something for all members of our community, no matter what your goals are in the New Year. From group exercise classes to youth programs, swim lessons to early childhood education, and water aerobics to after school care, the Y is here to support you and your family in 2026.

The Greater Scranton YMCA provides numerous membership options, including memberships for older adults, families, adults, youth and more. A family membership includes access to youth programs and child watch services! And through funds raised for our financial assistance program, the Greater Scranton YMCA is proud to provide community members in need with scholarship funding, allowing them to benefit from all the Y has to offer.

Greater Scranton YMCA to host Winter Clothing Drive

The Greater Scranton YMCA is proud to announce our upcoming Winter Clothing Drive, being help to support community members in need during the cold winter season.

From Jan. 5 through Jan. 7, the Y collected donations of new and gently used men’s, women’s, children’s and infant’s clothing. These donations will be made available (at no cost) for community members to pick up at the Y from Jan. 12 through Jan. 14.

The Winter Clothing Drive is open to the entire community, not just Greater Scranton YMCA members. We are encouraging residents to spread the word to friends and family who may be in need.

For questions about the clothing drive, please contact Tressa Capoccia, senior education director, at tcapoccia@gsymca.org.

Meghan Carnevale is the mission advancement and marketing director at the Greater Scranton YMCA. Carnevale has been with the Y since 2012, serving in different roles in the Scranton and Wilkes-Barre communities.
