William ‘Billy’ James Ferrario
OBITUARY
William Billy James Ferrario, 47, of Weston, Wisconsin, formerly of Scranton, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2025.
Billy lived a life defined by perseverance, kindness, and a deep love for family and friends. Growing up, he spent countless summer days on the baseball fields of Lackawanna Little League, where his love for sports first took root. He continued to develop his athletic talents playing American Legion baseball during his teenage years, before turning his focus to football the sport that would shape his future.
A proud Eagle Scout with Troop 4 in Throop, Billy carried the values of service and leadership with him throughout his life. His dedication on and off the field earned him a football scholarship to the University of Wisconsin, where he became a standout offensive lineman for the Badgers. During his college career, Billy helped lead the team to back-to-back Rose Bowl victories, an achievement he cherished deeply. In 2001, he fulfilled a lifelong dream when he was drafted in the fourth round of the NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.
After his playing career, Billy continued to share his passion for sports and teamwork, mentoring young athletes and supporting community programs. He was known for his generous heart giving his time, resources, and energy to numerous charitable organizations and taking an active role in many charity golf tournaments.
Above all, Billy’s proudest accomplishment was being a devoted father to his children, Luciana and Christopher. He cherished every moment with them and found his greatest joy in watching them grow.
Billy was preceded in death by his father, William F. Ferrario. He is survived by his loving mother, Sandra Ferrario; his children, Luciana and Christopher Ferrario; Stephanie Ferrario, mother of his children; and his sister, Laura Tylenda (Tim) and their children, Gianna and Rocco.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Fiorelli’s in Peckville, Pennsylvania.
