Brian Michael Baigis
OBITUARY
Brian Michael Baigis, 42, of Archbald passed on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Geisinger CMC with his family by his side. After a courageous battle with small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma.
Brian was born in Scranton May 13, 1983 and was the beloved son of the late Edward Baigis, who passed February 27, 2025 and Susan Baigis. Throop. Also surviving is his sister Kristen DePietro, brother-in-law Michael and nephew Claudio DePietro whom he enjoyed spending quality time with. His companion Siobhan Engles as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins whom were all near and dear to his heart. He loved his fur babies, Cooper, Buddy and Nala.
He was a 2001 graduate of Mid Valley High School and enjoyed working at Invenergy as a Control Room Operator. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Penn State University and attained Eagle Scout rank with Troop 322, Dickson City.
Brian had many talents and hobbies that involved working with his hands. He and his father enjoyed woodworking together. Meticulous and proud with his work, had a natural knack for building and creating. He took a liking to forging and had the best plans ahead for himself. He loved the outdoors, exploring local mines, train yards, collecting antiques and refurbishing a variety of tools and trinkets. Quad rides, bonfires and cooking would be a day well spent with friends and family.
Brian would go out of his way to help a friend in need and was prompt to solve the problem at hand. He was a true history buff who had a thirst for knowledge. He loved learning and teaching others. He was a stand up kind of guy, quick to shake your hand and was an incredible friend to all that have had the pleasure of knowing him. Brian will always be remembered for his one of a kind, impactful personality and his heartwarming smile that he often showed. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
Viewing for family and friends will be Saturday, January 10th from noon to 3:00 p.m. While services begin at 2:30 p.m. at John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc, 445 Sanderson St. Throop.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Throop Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
