A water main break in Bensalem has closed a major road through the township and is causing water pressure issues in homes in the area.
Bensalem Police Department reported the water main break around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 8, alerting residents and motorists that Bensalem Boulevard will be closed to traffic indefinitely.
“Bensalem Boulevard will be closed between Gibson Road and Byberry Road, with only local traffic permitted. This is expected to be a prolonged closure,” the alert read.

Shortly after residents in the neighborhoods around the closure, and further away in the Neshaminy Valley were reporting low water pressure or no water at all.
On the Aqua Pennsylvania website, the company issued a system pressure advisory, saying a large water main break on Bensalem Boulevard was impacting “most of the Bensalem area.
“Once we shut the main down customers should get their pressure back,” it read.
