VERMILION, Ohio (WOIO) – A dad who allegedly used a cattle prod to discipline his two young children asks to withdraw his guilty plea at a hearing in Erie County Court of Common Pleas on Thursday.
In September 2025, Robert Bores pleaded guilty to two counts of domestic violence.
However, in December 2025, the attorney for Bores filed a motion to withdraw his guilty plea.
Judge Roger Binette was expected to decide on the motion, but rather Bores’ former lawyer took the stand after Bores claimed his attorney misrepresented that he could see his children if he pleaded guilty.
Nothing was resolved today, and he is expected back in court Feb. 12 around 1:30 p.m.
Bores was arrested on March 13, 2024, after a tip from Children Services led Erie County Sheriff’s Detectives to his home in the area of State Route 113 in Florence Township.
