A Lehigh Valley Mexican restaurant is offering its signature birria tacos and more at its new Bethlehem location.
La Cocina del Abuelo held a soft opening Thursday at 81 W. Broad St., co-owner Greenberg Lemus said, where customers can order tacos, quesadillas, nachos, burritos, churros, Mexican burgers and chimichangas.
It’s the second Grandpa’s Kitchen for Lemus, who opened La Cocina del Abuelo in 2022 at 621 W. Hamilton St. in Allentown, where it will continue to operate. Lemus said he also wanted the additional space at the Bethlehem location. It will seat around 40-45 people there, compared to the 15-20 people it can seat in Allentown.
The Bethlehem restaurant is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. all week, though Lemus intends to eventually open earlier for the weekends. He also plans to hold a grand opening when the weather gets warmer.
Birriaholic used to operated at the property until it closed at the end of 2024.
