CINCINNATI (WXIX/Gray News) – A man is in custody after he allegedly vandalized Vice President JD Vance’s home early Monday morning in Ohio.
William DeFoor, 26, is being charged with one count each of obstructing official business, criminal damaging or endangering, criminal trespass and vandalism, court records show.
The U.S. Secret Service called police at 12:15 a.m. after seeing someone “running eastbound,” a Cincinnati police dispatcher told WXIX.

According to an arrest report, DeFoor was seen by a U.S. Secret Service agent walking onto Vance’s property and “damaging four of the victim’s residential windows and the victim’s vehicle.”
He was detained by Secret Service agents shortly after.
Vance and his family are out of town and were not in the home when the incident occurred, according to the U.S. Secret Service.
U.S. District Judge Dominick Gerace brought the following three charges against DeFoor on Monday night:
Damaging government propertyEngaging in physical violence against any person or property in a restricted building or groundsAssaulting, resisting or impeding federal officers
Court records show DeFoor is also facing four local charges:
One count obstructing official business (second-degree misdemeanor)One count of criminal damaging or endangering (second-degree misdemeanor)One count of criminal trespass (fourth-degree misdemeanor)One count of vandalism (fifth-degree felony)
