Bethlehem police on Friday arrested a 30-year-old man for the alleged indecent assault of a child.
Jesus A. Inojosa Lopez, of the 2000 block of Hanover Avenue in Allentown, is accused of touching private areas of a girl with whom he was familiar.
It allegedly occurred between last March and December at a home on Southside Bethlehem.
Inojosa Lopez admitted to the alleged molestation in an interview with investigators, according to court records filed by police with approval by the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office.
He was arraigned Friday before District Judge Jordan Knisley on felony counts of aggravated indecent assault of child, indecent assault of person less than 13 years of age and corruption of minors, in addition to summary harassment.
Knisley sent Inojosa Lopez to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 22 to determine if there is sufficient evidence to send the charges toward trial in the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas.
Court records did not immediately list an attorney for Inojosa Lopez.
