Romel Aleman made his birthday one to remember by helping Upper Darby swim past Chichester 91-78 in a nonleague meet Friday.

Aleman claimed top honors in the 500 freestyle and also swam on the Royals’ winning 400 free relay. Jose Mendoza led off both the victorious medley relay and 400 free relay and added a win in the 200 free. Leo Eichstaedt claimed the 50 free and swam on the two winning relays. Lucas Lin won the 100 free and 100 breaststroke and swam on the medley and 200 free relays.

Tim Daley won diving, and Brandon Kramer captured the 100 backstroke for Upper Darby.

Joey Horner picked up a win in the 100 butterfly for Chichester.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Unionville 90, Sun Valley 63 >> Luke Habich won the 200 individual medley, and Nate Jackson took first in diving for the Vanguards.

Girls Swimming

Upper Darby showed off its depth with a wave of quadruple winners in a 95-78 nonleague victory over Chichester.

Diane Mendoza led off the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays while taking first in the 200 IM and 500 free. Tara Burden was just as busy, with two relay wins to go with victories in the 50 free and 100 back.

Mara Hunt swept the 200 free and 100 free and helped both free relays to wins, while Emma Kramer anchored the medley and 200 free relays and won diving event and the 100 breast. Nylah Stafford added a victory in the 100 fly.

In the Ches-Mont League:

Unionville 99, Sun Valley 78 >> Angela Taylor won the 50 free and 100 free for the Vanguards, improving her seed times for the District 1 Championships in both.

Mackenna Dormer qualified for districts in the 50 free, while Marrah Lonnquist punched her ticket in the 100 breast.

Girls Basketball

Ah’Myah Naylor turned in a career night, scoring a personal-best 11 points and swiping eight steals as Chester cruised past Interboro 50-13 in a Del Val League matchup late Thursday.

Jordan Dennis led all scorers with 19 points and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds, while Imani Dorsey added 15 points and filled the stat sheet with eight rebounds, five steals, two assists and two blocks for the Clippers (8-3, 2-0).

In the Central League:

Conestoga 52, Springfield 46 >> The Cougars suffered their first Central League loss. Freshman Alice Murphy scored 16 of her game-high 21 points in the first half.

Boys Basketball

The Haverford School erased a 13-point second-half deficit to stun Springside Chestnut Hill Academy 63-58 in an Inter-Ac League showdown Friday.

The Fords used a 21-7 surge in the fourth quarter to pull off the comeback. Manny Butts led the charge with 18 points, while Silas Graham added 16 and Dillon Gamble chipped in 15.

In the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 45, Conwell-Egan 38 >> DJ Jones led the Lions with 13 points, Jack Quinn added 10, and Kaleb Hargrive finished with nine.

In the Central League:

Penncrest 55, Lower Merion 45 >> Mikey Mita scored 18 points and Sean Benson added 15 as the Lions (12-2, 8-0) remained unbeaten in league play. Connor Cahill chipped in 13.
