Virginia Brown Savage

OBITUARY

Virginia Brown Savage, Scranton, died Wednesday morning, with her niece Kim by her side, at Allied Hospice in Scranton. She was married to Robert Savage in 2009. Prior to that, she was the widow of Kenneth Brown, who was her husband for 55 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret McHale. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Snows Church.

Also surviving are a daughter, Wanda Brown Finch and her husband, Harlan; Step-sons Bobby Savage and wife Susan and Paul Savage and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Robert Shay and his wife, Carrie, Kevin Shay and his wife Michele, Christopher Shay and his wife, Amanda, Jenna and her husband Jim, and Maegan Dotterer and her husband, Ron; great grandchildren, Tiyanna, Tyler, Miles, Mason, Vance, Addison, Wyatt, Jackson, Gavin, Liam, Mckayla, Teagan, Kendal’lynn, Skylar and CJ; several nieces, nephews and her dog, Molly.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Jerome, Edward, Daniel, Elizabeth, Romayne, and Frances.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am from Our Lady of the Snows Church in Clarks Summit. All those attending mass are asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow at Miller Cemetery in Scott Township. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 1-4PM at the Lawrence E Young Funeral Home, 418 S State Street, Clarks Summit.
