Jarred P. Heckart

OBITUARY

Jarred P. Heckart, 41, of Strausstown, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 14, 2025 in his residence. He was the husband of Melissa R. (Wood) Heckart. They were married on November 11, 2014 and celebrated ten years of marriage.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of Paul R. and Beth A. (Bailey) Heckart, Tilden Twp. Jarred was a customer service representative for Penske1 Team. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. Jarred was an avid music fan and local musician, playing with Seafoam Green, Bandits, and the JP Bailey Trio. He played in various venues, including in Philadelphia, New York City and singing on stage at Austin City Limits. Jarred’s favorite role though, was being a parent. He was immeasurably proud of his two sons and it never took long for him to work them into a conversation. Jarred loved a good bourbon and spending time with those he loved. His health deteriorated greatly over the past few years, but he remained positive through it all. He was deeply loved and will be missed.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his sons: Michael A. Clancey and Noah T. Clancey. Jarred is also survived by his brothers: Shawn E. Heckart, husband of Sonya; and Dylan J. Heckart, husband of Laura; niece: Ashtyn Heckart; nephew: Declan Heckart; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Robert and Karen Wood; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Samantha and Ruben Balboa; brother-in-law: Matthew Wood; and family friend Lauren Casse.
