The Tampa Bay Lightning (27-13-3) defeated the Philadelphia Flyers (22-13-8) 7-2 on Saturday night and xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. With the win, the Lightning have now won nine consecutive games.
Nikita Kucherov had four points – two goals and two assists – to lead the way for Tapma Bay. Gage Goncalves had two goals, Brayden Point and three assists, and Brandon Hagel and Yanni Gourde also scored in the blowout win.
Kucherov’s two goals both came in the first period, and lifted the Lightning to a 2-1 lead. Nick Paul scored in the second to make it 3-1, before Tampa Bay erupted with four goals in the third to turn this game into a blowout. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 18-for-20 in net to get the win. Samuel Ersson took the loss in net for Philadelphia, saving 16 of the 23 shots he faced.
The Lightning remain in Philadelphia and will play the Flyers once again on Monday night. Puck drop from Philadelphia Monday night is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
