OBITUARY

Sally Taylor, 86, of Downey, California, died Monday June 16th, in Memory Care, in Henderson, Nevada. She was the wife of Richard E. Taylor. The couple had been married for 45 years.

Born in Scranton, a daughter of the late David, and Elsie Metz Sanders, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, Class of 56, where she led the band as the drum majorette. She loved to swim at the Weston Field Park pool, and roller skate at the Armory.

She began her career as an Operator with Pennsylvania Bell. She moved on to General Telephone of California, where she worked in the Business Office. She eventually became one of the 1st women, to be an Equipment Maintainer, in a Central Office. She retired as a Network Analyst, at the Whittier Network Service Center.

She was an avid bowler, swam with dolphins, and pet a gray whale in the San Ignacio Lagoon, BCS, Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Sanders, and sisters, Audrey Sanders, and Nancy Hiddlestone.

She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Taylor, her son, Daniel, and her brother, Willard Sanders.

In lieu of a service, her ashes will be scattered off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, where she loved to go whale watching.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
