John Andrew Borgna
OBITUARY
John Andrew Borgna, 71, of Olyphant, passed away on Saturday surrounded by his loved ones at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.
Born in Blakely, he was the son of the late Samuel and Regina Pegula Borgna. John was a graduate of Mid Valley High School, Class of 1972, and was employed for many years at Haddon Craftsmen and Lockheed Martin prior to his retirement.
John was deeply committed to his personal relationship with God. Above all, he was a devoted family man who cherished time spent with those he loved. He took great pride in his yard, a place where many moments of joy and family time were shared among his beautiful flowers and gardens. John especially loved the Seaside beaches of New Jersey, where he frequently brought his family to create lasting memories.
John enjoyed golfing and hiking with his friends. He had a deep appreciation for vinyl music and live performances, especially concerts at Bethel Woods. Kindhearted and gentle by nature, John was an exceptional storyteller, able to capture the attention of a room with ease. All who met him became friends, and he was known for his loyalty, warmth, and genuine spirit.
Surviving are his children: Jonna O’Connor and husband Sean, Olyphant; John Andrew Borgna Jr. and Carissa Binner, Olyphant; and Rachel Santoro and husband Cory, Olyphant; his beloved grandchildren, Zachary Menichetti, Logan O’Connor, Genevieve Borgna, and Carmella Santoro. John was joyfully expecting his fifth grandchild.
He is also survived by his sisters: Dolores Hodorovich and husband John; Rose Borgna; Stephanie Sembrat and husband George; a sister-in-law, Marcy Borgna; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a dear friend, Annie, all of whom he loved so much.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Borgna.
