ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — New York State Police are investigating a shooting on the I-190 north of Buffalo.

According to Troopers, they responded to Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital in Niagara Falls just after 12:30 to reports of gunshot wounds.

The early investigation uncovered that a 32-year-old man from Niagara Falls was driving on the I-190 North near the Vulcan Street Exit. That’s when officials say another car pulled alongside the victim’s vehicle and started shooting. The man kept driving to the nearest hospital, while his passenger called 911.

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

As of Monday morning, no arrests have been made. NYSP are calling this an active criminal investigation. Troopers say portions of the I-190 may be shut down for the investigation.
