Students from Dunmore Elementary Center are looking to get valentines cards from all 50 states.

DUNMORE, Pa. — These students at Dunmore Elementary Center are looking for love from all fifty states.

In return, some kindness folded up in a Valentine’s Day card.

“Our idea is to spread kindness. It’s part of our social and emotional learning, spreading kindness to each other, obviously, and we thought we could broaden it and see how far we could spread this kindness,” Mrs. Cantarella.

Her kindergarten class opened their first two letters for their Valentine’s Day project, which is a part of Hearts Across the World.

The first came from Pennsylvania. The second from some friendly folks in Virginia.

Inside Miss Moraski’s classroom, Students showed off their colorful creations featuring colors like green, pink, purple, and a classic Valentine’s Day red.

“It’s really nice to be able to show the kids that you can use the skills that you’re learning in school in our language and writing curriculum, as well as our social and emotional learning curriculum, in real-world situations like writing your own Valentine’s or sending a letter to somebody all the way across the world,” said teacher Bridget Kapmeye.

Of course, all four classes participating are looking to check off all fifty states, but they’ll accept a card from anywhere on the globe that sends it their way.
