A 1980s horror classic and an enduring children’s TV show are all part of the fun this weekend.

Monday also marks the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and there are a number of events planned to commemorate the slain Civil Rights leader.

Easton’s Winter Market is back

Easton’s Winter Market is back for the 2026 season. Located outside the Easton Public Market, its open 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays through April 25.

The wintertime farmer’s market features more than two dozen farms and specialty food producers, including Apple Ridge Farm, AquaSprout Farms LLC, Bizzle’s Bites, Breakaway Farms, Bussin’ Butters, Cabbage Throw Farm LLC, Collective Culture, Earthen Goat, Easton Salsa Co., Elm Hill Vineyard & Winery, Fresh Tofu Inc., Funny Farm Apiaries, High Point Kombucha, Jersey Pickles, Love The Soup, Mia & Maddie’s Bakery, Oley Ravioli, Primordia Mushrooms, Raspberry Ridge Creamery, Saint Rocco’s Treats, Salvaterra’s Gardens, Scholl Orchards, Serrenta, Stehly’s Bakery, The Flour Shop Bakery, Tucker’s Pond & Predatory Plants, Wild for Salmon, Zekraft, and additional rotating guest vendors.

Seasonal programming will highlight nutrition, education and local agriculture.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse at Da Vinci Science Center

It’s your last weekend to enjoy to Mikey Mouse Clubhouse exhibit at Da Vinci Science Center.

Families across the Lehigh Valley have been flocking to the Allentown museum to experience the hands-on learning exhibit, which ends Monday.

Designed especially for young learners, the exhibit invites children to explore science through interactive activities inspired by the world of Mickey Mouse. It’s been a hit with children and parents alike, helping to make it one of Da Vinci Science Center’s busiest Decembers ever.

‘The Thing’ at Shankweiler’s Drive-In

Experience the annual tradition when “The Thing” returns to Shankweiler’s Drive-In for a three-night run.

Enjoy John Carpenter’s 1982 science fiction-horror film starring Kurt Russell along with Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” in a double feature.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. for “The Thing” and 9 p.m. for “The Shining” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gates open at 6 p.m. Friday and Sunday, and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The theater is open rain, snow, or shine.

MLK Day lecture

Among the many ways the Lehigh Valley will commemorate the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum plans a lecture on his enduring legacy on Monday.

The lecture, “The Enduring Ideals & Legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” will delve into King’s message and leadership.

The program begins at noon and is free. The museum’s galleries, which are normally closed on Mondays, will be open from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and guests are invited to stay and enjoy cake and coffee after the lecture.

The event is the museum’s 20th annual MLK Day celebration.
