A historic tavern will reopen next month with a new owner, a new name and a new look after it closed over the summer in the Lehigh Valley.

Ye Olde Spring Valley Tavern will reopen as the Spring Valley Tavern in mid-November at 1355 Station Ave. in Upper Saucon Township, said manager Richard Islam, who owns it with his family. While an exact date hasn’t been set, Islam said the opening would be before Thanksgiving.

Islam said they’ll introduce new menu items and renovate the property by repainting, landscaping, cleaning the fountain, finishing floors and adding new furniture, but that they intend to honor the restaurant’s history by keeping elements such as the classic bar and the trout-based dishes.

The restaurant closed in August as part of the sale from former owners Donna and Warren Walters.

The building was constructed in the early 1800s, and was closed since 2008 until it reopened as the tavern under the Walters as well as Frank and Kim McCartney in 2014.
