A Pittsburgh media company says it’s expanding its publication. Trib Total Media, our news partners, said starting May 9, it will launch the Pittsburgh edition of the ‘Tribune-Review,’ a new weekend print publication dedicated to the city of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. In a statement, Trib leaders said, “We are going to show the rest of the media world how the Steel City bands together to protect its stories…This is our immediate commitment to keeping the tradition of weekend print journalism alive in our city.”This edition, the Trib said, will be available for sale every Saturday starting May 9 at retail locations and newsstands throughout the region, as well as by mailed home delivery. For those who prefer digital access, the Trib also will offer this publication as an e-edition, ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to stay connected in the format they choose.The expansion comes after the City Paper and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette announced they will cease operations. Trib Total Media President and CEO Jennifer Bertetto said the Trib is prepared to grow its newsroom in a thoughtful, financially sustainable way, seeking new hires to help with the process. “We are actively seeking to bring on the kind of talent and expertise that will help us meet this moment for our region, ensuring our growth is as permanent as it is impactful,” she said. “We are proud of our city, we are proud of our journalists, and we are honored to serve you.”Bertetto said more updates will be made as plans evolve.
