PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WHP) — State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta (D-Philadelphia) announced he will seek reelection in 2026.

Kenyatta, 35, released a YouTube video Thursday to share some of his goals for Philadelphia and Pennsylvania.

Since taking office in 2018, Kenyatta has advocated for raising the minimum wage, protecting unions and workers, funding SEPTA and investing in Philadelphia schools.

He was also elected vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee last February.

“Believe it or not, the government should be focused on making life better for you and your family,” Kenyatta said in the video. “With your support, I’ll spend every single day making sure it does.”

The primary election will be held May 19, and the general election will be held Nov. 3.
