Love City Brewing Is Opening a Two-Story Tasting Room in Manayunk That Will Host Events and Live Music
Published on January 15, 2026
Beloved local brewery Love City Brewing is officially expanding beyond Center City. Helmed by co-owners and operators Melissa and Kevin Walter, the Philadelphia-based brewery has announced Love City Manayunk, its first-ever tasting room expansion, set to celebrate a grand opening with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting in Spring 2026 at 4323 Main Street.
Known for unfailingly delicious beer—especially its flagship Love City Lager—and a deep commitment to inclusivity and community, Love City Brewing’s move into Manayunk marks a major milestone for the brand and a welcome addition to one of Philly’s most energetic neighborhoods.
Housed inside a two-story, 5,884-square-foot historic building, Love City Manayunk is designed as an elevated neighborhood bar and events space that stays true to the welcoming spirit of the flagship location at 1023 Hamilton Street in Callowhill. The design blends mid-century and antique influences with warm modern touches, nodding to the building’s storied past while creating a relaxed, communal atmosphere built for lingering.
Industrial-chic foundations—exposed brick, wrought iron, and original beams—are softened by draping ivy and lush greenery, while bold, high-color artwork by True Hand Society brings contemporary energy to the space. Overhead, a vintage tin ceiling evokes classic bars and breweries from the early 20th century.
The building itself has a rich history, having previously housed a woman-owned brewery (Fat Lady Brewing), a Woolworth’s, a 5-and-10 shop, and a family-run collectibles and antiques business—making it a natural fit for Love City’s community-minded approach.
“We have been looking for the right opportunity to expand for a long time,” said Melissa Walter, Co-Owner and Director of Operations. “We were very conscious about choosing a neighborhood that has great energy and foot traffic, while still allowing our current location to thrive. Manayunk checks all those boxes for us.”
The first floor will serve as the primary gathering space, open seven days a week, featuring:
A full bar with seating for approximately 75 guests
A retail and merch area stocked with beer to-go, apparel, and more
Multiple large TVs, making it an ideal destination for Philly sports fans year-round
Upstairs, the second-floor loft—complete with the building’s original hardwood floors—will function as Love City Manayunk’s dedicated events space. With a capacity of approximately 60 guests, the loft will host:
Selective hours will apply to the upstairs space, with food offerings to be announced at a later date.
“This new location allows us to continue our mission in a way that feels true to who we are,” Walter added. “Taking care of our team, serving outstanding beer and beverages of all kinds, and creating a welcoming third space where people feel they belong—whether they’re longtime regulars or walking in for the first time.”
Beverage offerings at Love City Manayunk will mirror the flagship brewery’s popular lineup, including:
Guests can also expect a thoughtful selection of low-, no-, and full-proof cocktails, crafted with Pennsylvania spirits and locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The full beverage menu is available at lovecitybrewing.com.
