THEY INCLUDE GEORGE BENSON, NELLIE BLY, ANDREW CARNEGIE AND RACHEL CARSON. Pittsburgh is unveiling its brand new Walk of Fame today in the Strip District, featuring ten inductees in the inaugural class with bronze stars already in place for the big reveal. The Walk of Fame honors individuals from the area who have left a significant mark on the nation’s cultural heritage. The inductees include George Benson, Nellie Bly, Andrew Carnegie, Rachel Carson, Fred Rogers, Dr. Jonas Salk, Andy Warhol, Roberto Clemente, August Wilson, and Michael Keaton.Keaton is set to be at the induction in person, along with the children of Fred Rodgers and the children of Roberto Clemente and Dr. Jonas Salk. The widow of August Wilson as well as representatives from the Andy Warhol Museum, Carnegie Library, and Carson Homestead will be in attendance.Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 will bring you coverage from the event which is set to start at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
