The state police Bureau of Gaming Enforcement is investigating the source of four counterfeit $100 bills that were discovered at Mohegan Pennsylvania over the weekend.
Troopers say a purse found on the gaming floor of the Plains Twp. casino Saturday afternoon was turned into to staff. During an inventory, authorities discovered four $100 bills in the purse all had the same serial number, troopers said.
The owner of the purse could not be located but her sister provided troopers with contact information for her, according to police.
The bills were seized and troopers alerted the U.S. Secret Service to the discovery of the counterfeit bills.
The investigation was ongoing.
