After several trial date changes, former Erie Humane Society executive director Nicole Leone pleaded guilty in court on Friday, more than a year after she was charged.
Leone, who was accused of stealing approximately $32,435.69 from the Humane Society, pleaded guilty to theft by deception and will face a sentence of 43 months of probation, starting with 7 months of house arrest with electronic monitoring, as agreed upon with the prosecution.
According to anchor Matt Mathias, who sat in on the proceedings, Leone’s charges of felony access device fraud and misdemeanor tampering with records of identification were dropped as part of the plea. Restitution was also paid in full.
