An Allentown man is jailed on drug charges after investigators said they seized fentanyl, crack cocaine, a handgun and thousands in cash following a raid on a city home.
Alexis Rivera, 22, is charged with two counts felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; one count misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance; and one count misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rivera was arraigned Thursday afternoon before District Judge Rashid Santiago, who set bail at $150,000. In lieu of bail, he was taken to the Lehigh County Jail.
Court records did not immediately show any attorney information for Rivera.
Detectives with Allentown Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit, along with members of the department’s Emergency Response Team and uniformed patrol officers, traveled to a home in the 2100 block of West Liberty Street just after 6 a.m. Thursday. They obtained and executed a search warrant.
Investigators seized a 9mm handgun with magazines and ammunition; approximately 169 grams of fentanyl; approximately 100 grams of crack cocaine, and $13,289 in cash. Also found were packaging materials and a money counter, police said.
Police did not specify the street value of the drugs or if Rivera was the focus of the investigation.
Rivera is due back in court for a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Jan. 23 before Santiago. A judge will then determine if there’s sufficient evidence to send the case toward trial at the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas.
