The three-story structure, which has an address of 628-630 McAlpine St., is owned by Francis Persad, who has an East Harlem mailing address in the Upper Manhattan section of New York City, according to county property records. The building appears to house a barbershop on the first floor.

Most of the fire damage apparent from the building exterior appeared to be on the third floor.

Additional information was unavailable prior to deadline. Fire crews were still working at the scene late Saturday afternoon.
