Over 20 firearms seized after Bethlehem Township man arrested in domestic violence incident

Bethlehem Township, PA — A 69-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after officers responded to a domestic violence call and uncovered threats to law enforcement and an arsenal of firearms inside his home, police said.

Daniel Allen Bissey was taken into custody shortly after 8:50 p.m. on January 13, 2026, when Bethlehem Township Police were called to a residence in the 3800 block of Lehigh Street for a reported domestic assault. During the investigation, officers determined that Bissey had allegedly assaulted a person inside the home and made threats not only against that individual but also against responding officers.

Bissey was arrested and charged with Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Terroristic Threats.

During a subsequent search of the residence, police recovered more than 20 firearms. Authorities did not immediately say whether the weapons were legally owned or if any were used or displayed during the incident.

Bissey was arraigned late Wednesday and committed to Northampton County Prison. His bail status was not disclosed, but officials confirmed he remains in custody.

The case remains under investigation.
