Andrew Mark ‘Kok’ Kokindo
OBITUARY
Andrew Mark Kok Kokindo, 68, of Throop, passed away Friday morning at Geisinger-Community Medical Center after an illness. His wife, the former Mary Ann Stolarik, died January 8, 2025.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Andrew and Joan Racht (Kokindo) McGraw, he was a graduate of Mid-Valley High School, (class of 1975), and was of the Catholic Faith. Prior to his illness, Mark spent most of his life as a roofer, working for E&R Roofing Company, and worked for the University of Scranton, facilities department, from 2011 – 2018, when he formally retired. He was a 31 year member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #665.
Mark loved hunting and being in the outdoors. He enjoyed watching football and was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Mark had a passion for cooking and especially loved Sunday dinners with his children and grandchildren.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the providers and staff of Hematology and Oncology Associates of NEPA, especially Dr. Kishori Veerabhadrappa, and the entire medical team at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals Department of Otolaryngology.
He is survived by one son, Mark Kokindo of Throop and former wife Michelle of Dunmore, grandson Andrew and granddaughter Anna; one daughter, Lindsay Bukowski and husband John of Dickson City, granddaughters, Ryla and Eleanor; one step-daughter, Nicole Marra and partner Dylan of Dickson City, step-granddaughters Olivia and Carmella, and step-grandson Sonny; one uncle, Edward Racht and wife Diane of Chapman Lake; one aunt, Jule Racht of Mayfield; and numerous cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a step-father, Thomas McGraw; his sister, Sue Giles; and his brother, Kevin Kokindo.
Services will be Saturday, January 24th from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Turko & Sons Funeral Home, 402 Boulevard Ave., Dickson City.
