Western New York is bracing for some heavy lake effect snow today, and that has led officials in Erie County to issue a travel advisory fot the entire county.
Travel Advisory In Place For Erie County
With lake effect snow expected to move across the region today and gusty winds, a travel advisory is already in place for all of Erie County. This means that you can drive, but try to avoid being on the roads if possible.
Winter Storm Warning Issued for Western New York
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Western New York. Lake effect snow is expected to move from the North to the South over the region, dropping up to three feet of snow in some areas between Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon.

Most of the snow will come between Monday afternoon and Tuesday night.
Winds are also expected to pick up, and gusts could hit 50 miles per hour. This will cause the wind chills to drop below 0 for parts of the region. The coldest part of the week is expected to be Monday overnight into Tuesday morning.
