Louis Allegra, 79, of Easton, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Sharon (Byrne) Allegra, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Born in Paterson, NJ, Louis was the son of the late Saverio and Mary (Waller) Allegra. He graduated from Ramapo Regional High School in Franklin Lakes, NJ, in 1964 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgy and Materials Science, summa cum laude, from Lehigh University in 1973.

Following graduation, Louis began a 21-year career with Bethlehem Steel, where he held positions in research, product applications, and international and automotive marketing. His distinguished professional career also included serving as Vice President and General Manager of Charter Automotive and Charter Steel; Executive Vice President and Director of Topy Corporation; Group Chair of Vistage International; Chair Emeritus of Vistage Worldwide, Inc.; Mentor for SCORE of Lehigh Valley; and Principal of Allegra Executive Coaching.

An Army veteran, Louis served as a Division Aviation Clerk in West Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Bethlehem.

In his leisure time, Louis enjoyed hiking, community volunteering and annual summer family vacations in Ocean City, NJ. He took pride in driving his 1966 Mustang, pursued amateur photography, enjoyed banjo picking, and was a licensed ham radio operator. He was also a proud shareholder of his beloved Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his daughters, Joanne Allegra of Madison, NJ, Jeanne Allegra and her husband Drew Miller of Haworth, NJ, Marianne Allegra of West Allis, WI, and Jennifer DeLong of Pen Argyl, PA. Lou is also survived by his brother, Alan Allegra and his wife Lynda of Bethlehem; his grandchildren, Samantha, Emma-Lee, Tyler, Ryann, Ben, and Luke; and his great-grandchildren, Crew and Maeve.
