Area schools announced delayed openings Tuesday due to inclement weather.

A cold-weather advisory for Lehigh, Northampton and Berks counties, and Warren County, New Jersey, is in effect 2-10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, which said the temperature could feel as low as 10 degrees below zero with wind chills.

Allentown School District students should report two hours after their normal start time, the district said in a news release Monday evening. It said no breakfast would be served Tuesday, and there would be no morning Lehigh Career & Technical Institute. Bridgeview Academy will open at 10 a.m., and the Administration Center and school offices will open at 9 a.m., it said.

Bethlehem Area schools and offices similarly will have a two-hour delay, according to a notice on its website. Child care will still open at 7 p.m.

Northwestern Lehigh said all schools will have a two-hour delay except the middle dchool, which will operate on a delayed virtual instruction day due to scheduled student conferences. It said middle school and high school families should look for a message from their building principals with specific details about the schedule.

Southern Lehigh District announced a two-hour delay, with a modified kindergarten — Kindergarten students have school, but follow a shorter than normal day schedule: 11 a.m. to 12:36 p.m. for morning session and 1:54-3:30 p.m. for afternoon session.

Other districts announcing a two-hour delay on their websites included Easton Area, Northern Lehigh, Parkland and Whitehall-Coplay.
