Temperatures were manageable on Monday with the sunshine.
People in Philadelphia were out and about along Kelly Drive, enjoying the sun. Many are planning to hunker down with colder days are expected later this week.
“We just needed to go for a little walk to boost our moods,” said Shahrzad Abdollahi and Christian Iannarone of Northern Liberties.
The sun made the chilly air more manageable for runners; some were even dressed in shorts.
“Getting to enjoy the cool weather before it gets really cold,” said Ned Heltzer of Fairmount.
Most people, though, were bundled up in layers.
You can tell the temperatures were dropping, with parts of the Schuylkill River beginning to freeze over.
However, the cold did not deter some from taking to the ice at Dilworth Park.
Despite the chill in the air, skaters, or those attempting to skate, embraced it.
“I’m just trying to be adventurous today. You won’t see me out here again,” noted Taliya Hicks of North Philadelphia.
With more snow expected later this week, some say they’re ready for it. Others not so much.
“I’ll stay in the house, I’m not coming out. I don’t play these types of games,” Hicks said.
