The clock is ticking to register to vote in Pennsylvania’s 2025 municipal election.

As Monday night’s deadline approaches, election officials are breaking down exactly what you need to know.

Pennsylvania residents have until 5 p.m. Monday evening to register in person to vote on Nov. 4.

“There have been so many elections where just one or two votes made a difference. So it’s important to you to know your vote matters,” said Phillips Armstrong, Lehigh County Executive.

Mail in and in-person applications have to be received by your county board of elections by 5 p.m.

If you can’t make it in person to register, online voter registration applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m.

Berks County Office of Election Services Assistant Director Stephanie Nojiri said if you’re already registered but plan to simply update your registration status, Monday night’s deadline also applies.

“That could be their address, signature, political party, and any kind of updates like that,” Nojiri said.

In Lehigh County, Armstrong said people can visit the building on 7th and Hamilton and head to the voter registration department.

“If you want your voice to be really heard, it is great to hold a sign and march down the road, but the most important thing is your vote,” Armstrong said.

Applications for mail-in or absentee ballots are due in your county elections office by Oct. 28.

Mail-in ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

In Berks County, there are three ballot drop boxes that voters can use, including the Berks County Services Center in downtown Reading.

Lehigh County has five drop boxes available, including one open 24/7 at the government building.

Armstrong said Lehigh County’s polling locations are always looking for volunteers.

“It’s such an important day. It’s an important process,” Armstrong said.

Voters are encouraged to apply early for mail-in ballots.

Elections officials ask people to be courteous to fellow voters and poll workers.
