Weather alert active for Northern Erie and Southern Erie until Tuesday morning

A special weather statement was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 4:39 a.m. until 8 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie.

“A combination of very cold surface temperatures and light lake effect snow has resulted in snow covered roads across the area early this morning. Lake effect snow is expected to lift north over the lake later this morning. Drivers are urged to use caution and be prepared for slick road conditions,” says the weather service.
