The National Weather Service released an updated special weather statement at 8:03 a.m. on Tuesday until 10 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie.

“Bands of lake-effect snow, steady to heavy at times with visibility as low as one quarter mile, will continue to shift northward across northern Erie County. The snow bands should become located offshore the county by 10 a.m. this morning. Before then, additional snow accumulations of a coating to 2 inches are expected. Motorists should be prepared to encounter rapid changes in road and weather conditions, including visibility,” explains the weather service.
